Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 May 2026 — applies to amelie.cc and to client engagements with Amelie Marketing Inc.

1. Who we are

Amelie Marketing Inc., trading as Amelie Marketing Agency ("Amelie", "we", "us"), is the data controller for personal information collected through amelie.cc and through services we provide to clients. You can reach us at hello@amelie.cc.

2. Information we collect

You give us directly

  • Contact information — your name, email, company, role, and anything you write in a message or form.
  • Engagement information — briefs, assets, brand guidelines, account access, and feedback you share with us during a project.
  • Billing information — handled through Stripe; we don't store full card numbers ourselves.

Collected automatically

  • Technical & analytics data — IP address, device, browser, pages viewed, referring URL, time on page, and similar diagnostics.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — see our Cookie Policy.

From third parties

  • Marketing platforms we operate on your behalf (e.g., Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn) may share campaign performance data with us under your accounts.
  • Public sources — when relevant for prospect research, we may use information you have made publicly available.

3. How we use information

  • To respond to inquiries and provide quotes.
  • To deliver, manage, and improve the services you've engaged us for.
  • To send service-related communications (project updates, invoices, account notices).
  • With your consent, to send occasional updates about our work.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
  • To detect, prevent, and investigate fraud and security issues.

4. Legal bases (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Contract — to provide services you've requested.
  • Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and improve our services and respond to inquiries.
  • Consent — for non-essential cookies and direct marketing where required by law.
  • Legal obligation — to comply with applicable laws.

5. Sharing & processors

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers (processors) who help us run the business — e.g., Stripe (billing), our website host, email and analytics tools, productivity software, and CMS providers. Each is bound by appropriate confidentiality and data-processing terms.
  • Advertising and marketing platforms where you've engaged us to manage your accounts — we act on your instructions and within those platforms' policies.
  • Authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect legal rights.
  • Successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you of any change of control.

6. Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Typical retention: inquiry messages — 24 months; client project files — for the duration of the engagement plus 7 years for accounting reasons; analytics data — up to 26 months.

7. International transfers

We are based in the United States and use service providers in the US, EU, and UK. When we transfer personal data out of the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

8. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the data we handle, including access controls, encryption in transit, regular software updates, and limiting who can access what. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we will notify affected individuals and regulators where required by law in the event of a breach.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
  • Ask us to delete information ("right to erasure").
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect prior processing).
  • Receive a copy of your information in a portable format.
  • Complain to your local data-protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@amelie.cc with "Privacy" in the subject line. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (usually 30 days).

California residents: the CCPA/CPRA gives you rights to know, delete, correct, and limit certain uses of personal information, and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" — Amelie does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined.

10. Children's privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Cookies & tracking

See our separate Cookie Policy for details on what we use and how to control it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices or the law evolves. The "Last updated" date above shows the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated by email or through a notice on the site.
